GUANGZHOU, China, Sept. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Organized by Guangzhou Tianhe District Government, The Guangzhou T-hero International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (T-hero Competition) has been formally launched on September 4, with the launch ceremony being held at the Ucommune Hong Kong located in Sheung Wan Grand Millennium Plaza. It has been the forth T-hero Competition since it was held again in 2015.
The Guangzhou CPPCC members cum Chairman of the Macao Patriotic Education Youth Association, Mr. Alan Wong Ka Lon, as the officiating guests of the launching ceremony of the T-hero Competition. Speaking at the launching ceremony, Alan said, "Incubating innovation by the effort of one side along is always not enough and it needs a joint force cooperation to make it a success. Through the launching of T-hero Competition, we gather various organizations and entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao passionate in the same goal and we hope to encourage more participation and a great traction from this Hong Kong-Macao division is expected."
It is Guangzhou Tianhe District's mission to work in response to the state-driven "Promoting Quality Development" policy which is also the mission of T-hero Competition. Over the past three years, it has attracted over ten thousand outstanding teams around the world to apply and has contributed to more than 360 million RMB investment intentions.
The 2018 T-hero Competition has set up four divisions: Domestic (mainland) Division, Overseas, Hong Kong and Macao, and Taiwan. It aims to explore the establishment of innovative and entrepreneurial cooperation globally, and streamline the high-end innovation resources. This platform will gradually guide more Hong Kong and Macao innovative teams to continue their development in the international market.
In last year's Hong Kong and Macao Division, there were 163 outstanding teams to compete. Along with the establishment of the Guangdong-Macau Bay Area, Guangdong and Hong Kong and Macao's economic exchanges become more frequent. This year's the host is giving out more than a million RMB as total bonuses to facilitate the teams to root in Guangzhou and leverage this policy and geographical advantage.

2017 Tianhe District ranked high in most of the science and technology innovation criteria of Guangzhou City with a total of 13,000 new technology enterprises in the region established, an increase of 42.7%, accounting for 31.9% of the whole Guangzhou city. More than 1400 is recognized as the national high-tech enterprises, accounting for 29% of the city. 4 companies were selected as the Top 100 China Internet Enterprises, 5 companies were selected as the "Fast Company" Top 50 China's best Innovation Company, 8 enterprises selected provincial high-tech enterprises growth Hundred, 28 enterprises selected as the Top 100 City Innovation Leading Enterprises, which were ranked first in the city. 12 Enterprises were awarded Guangzhou "Unicorn Innovation Enterprise" and 32 enterprises were newly listed in the China New Third Board exchanges and 424 enterprises were newly listed in Guangzhou New Equity Exchange Centre.
