NANTONG, China, June 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Local government officials today joined with representatives of the upcoming Nord Anglia School, Nantong (NAS Nantong) to celebrate the ground-breaking ceremony of Nord Anglia Education's first bilingual school in Jiangsu Province, China.
The ceremony began at 10:58 a.m. on 15 June 2018 in Nantong where the new school is located. Attending the event were dignitaries from the Nantong Education Bureau, Nantong Economic and Technological Development Zone, representatives from Nord Anglia Education, representatives from NAS Ningbo, as well as the developer Nantong Anhui Education Investment Group. After the opening comments, the officials jointly broke ground at the site, after which the guests were invited to witness the laying of the school's foundation stone.
NAS Nantong, which offers a bilingual curriculum, is expected to open in September 2019 and will provide a state-of-the art teaching and learning environment for up to 1,728 students. The international learning experience at NAS Nantong will offer students aged 6-18 years old the best of eastern and western education resources and philosophies. The bilingual curriculum will be based on the Nantong K-12 curriculum blended with globally respected international education resources and teaching methods. Students will gain a solid foundation of Chinese culture whilst being equipped with the knowledge and skills they will need to be successful in an increasingly globalised world.
Mr. Wang Shaoyong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Industrial Committee of the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Zone, began the ceremony by highlighting the excellent opportunity for the Nantong community.
