I just got a great job offer. But I am two-and-a-half months pregnant. Is it ethical not to tell the organisation if I plan to take up the position?

You should be upfront with your potential employer to prevent any misunderstandings from the get-go. If they are keen to hire you, they still will.

Besides, even if you keep mum and accept the job offer, you won't be able to hide your condition for long, and then you could potentially get into trouble.

If they decide not to hire you, then perhaps it's just as well. It would be in your best interests to find a more understanding employer.

Some women worry about telling their bosses about their pregnancy as it may prevent them from getting a job or ruin their chances for a promotion.

If they feel they are being discriminated against, they can make a complaint with the Manpower Ministry.
