SINGAPORE, Feb. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Solas Fiduciary Services (Solas), a privately-owned company that provides independent non-executive directorships to funds and fund managers, announced plans to expand by opening a second office in Central, Hong Kong.

Located in KSF Business Centre along Queens Road, the new location will strengthen their presence in Asia Pacific, especially in assisting fund managers with on-shore governance in Hong Kong, following the recent proposed amendments of its tax exemption policy.
On 5 November 2018, the Financial Services and Treasury Bureau (FSTB) in Hong Kong proposed amendments to the tax exemption scheme to enable onshore funds to enjoy the same tax incentives as offshore funds and for funds to enjoy a profits tax exemption on their investments in both Hong Kong and Non-Hong Kong private companies.
"We are seeing a shift to a more regulated onshore environment globally and Hong Kong is meeting that demand with the announcement by the FSTB above and the launch of the Open-ended Fund Companies ("OFC") regime in July 2018.
