Bringing medical professionals together to achieve the "3Cs"

Launched earlier this year, with a "patient-first, evidence-based" service ethos, Virtus Medical provides personalised total health solutions to individuals of different ages and at different stages of the health cycle. The multi-specialty practice currently has over 40 doctors and other healthcare professionals who share the vision of providing comprehensive healthcare services with Compassion, Confidence and Commitment in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area and other key cities in Mainland China.

Virtus' patient-centred service approach

As chronic diseases reach global epidemic proportions, healthcare demands are reaching unprecedented levels, with the public healthcare system overstretched and people seeking personalised preventive and treatment options in the private sector. Virtus Medical, with a patient-centred approach, promotes continuum of care as opposed to single episode care.  Besides medical treatments for those who are sick, Virtus Medical also looks after those who are otherwise healthy but susceptible to illness and those who are recovering from it by offering healthcare solutions from wellness, prevention, early diagnosis, to treatment and rehabilitation. One of Virtus Medical's strengths, as a multi-specialty group, is to provide cross-disciplinary collaborations to maximise clinical outcomes.  Virtus Medical Tower, a brand new 15-storey medical facility located in the heart of Central, is set up in a way that cultivates a collegial atmosphere to achieve this goal of integrated care. Phase 1 of Virtus Medical Tower, launched in July, consists of eight floors of the following centres:

  1. Nephro-Urology Centre
Integrating Nephrology and Urology to facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration for better patient-care
  2. Endoscopy Centre
3 endoscopy suites built in strict compliance with Department of Health standards
  3. Neurological Rehabilitation Centre
Provides Neuro Assessments and doctor-supervised rehabilitation programs, utilising interactive equipment such as Tyromotion -- PABLO, AMADEO and MYRO
  4. Orthopaedics - Sports Injury -- Rehabilitation Centre
Equipped with gym facilities to fulfill a wide array of treatments in 12 single therapy rooms for enhanced patient privacy
  5. Health Assessment Centre
Provides comprehensive preventive services that include vaccinations, health screenings, genomic testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing etc.

Other facilities including Paediatric Centre, Allergy and Respiratory Centre, ENT Centre and Ambulatory Surgery Centre, will launch in Phase 2 in early 2019.

Backed by an experienced team

Dr. Manson Fok, Chairman of Virtus Medical and Dean of the Faculty of Health Science at Macau University of Science & Technology (MUST), said, "I am honored to be able to witness the launch of the Virtus Medical Tower along with friends, professionals and guests. Our team has always adhered to the 'patient first, evidence-based' service ethos, and many of our experts are also actively participating in teaching and academic research, contributing to the healthcare sector in different ways. Along with Virtus Medical's development, I hope that our team will become a well-trusted medical service provider."

Mr. Poon Yiu Kin, Samuel, CEO of Virtus Medical, said, "The opening of the Virtus Medical Tower symbolises the company's move towards a new chapter. We have a visionary team who conceive the spirit to expand cross-disciplinary teamwork and provide patients with the most comprehensive and personalised healthcare services. In light of the increasing demand for high quality private medical care in the Greater Bay Area, as well as other cities in Mainland China, we plan to leverage on the edge of Hong Kong and Macau to expand our operations, aiming to become the leading medical centre in the region."
