Check out these quirky speakers

SINGAPORE - Japanese audio company Nakamichi has launched five products in its range of portable Bluetooth speakers.

Bright, colourful and quirky, the compact speakers are easy to carry around while on the go.

Audiophiles will get to enjoy high-fidelity sounds from the pineapple-like speaker NBS7 ($119). It features a built-in passive radiator that improves the internal air-pressure fluctuations, providing a better sound quality and overall music experience.

For those who want a fast and fuss-free audio connection with their devices, the curved NBS9 ($129) is a speaker that uses near-field-communication technology - a faster and simpler connection that runs on lower power, compared to Bluetooth - to intelligently detect the proximity of the pairing device before deciding the type of pairing connection.

Another product launched recently by Nakamichi is the NBS10 ($179), a pair of baseball-like Bluetooth speakers.

Don't be fooled by the diminutive gadget. Wireless connectivity on these speakers works up to 10m and they have up to seven hours of playback time.

The NBS10 is available at Technobay Level 4 at Tangs Orchard, HMV, iSound@T2, eHub@T3, Challenger and other premium Nakamichi authorised resellers, while the NBS7 and NBS9 will be available at the same outlets from Nov 30.
