A catering worker has been arrested after being accused of indecently assaulting a Cathay Dragon flight attendant on a plane at Hong Kong International Airport.

The 25-year-old man was delivering meals to Nanjing-bound flight KA810 at a parking bay before take-off on Wednesday morning, when a female cabin crew member alleged he assaulted her from behind and his genitals touched her buttocks, a police source said.

The suspect rejected the woman's claim and police were called in.

An airport district investigation team was on the case, a police spokesman said.

A spokeswoman for the carrier declined to comment, as the police investigation was under way.

The flight, scheduled for a 10.25am departure, left at 12.18pm, according to the airport's website.
