WATCH: Blind husband carries disabled wife for 29 years

Meet Chongqing’s most formidable duo - married couple and farmers, Cao Shucai and Xu Houbi, who have been assisting one another for 29 years.

Cao Shucai, who is blind, carries his wife who is unable to walk in a custom-made basket, as seen at their home in the village of Yong'an outside Chongqing, Friday.

Xu Houbi said: "I rely on him for everything. It is not easy for him to carry me all the time," adding that "he always puts food in front of me, because he doesn't want me to move."

The two met through Cao Shucai’s aunt and Xu Houbi’s sisters, who were friends and colleagues, and the rest was history.

"The people around us make jokes, they say they have never seen a couple like us, that stays with each other 24 hours a day" Cao Shucai said.
