Days of torrential rains hit the Mianyang region, causing a rapid rise in the water level of the Fujiang River.
Two cargo trains weighing thousands of tonnes were parked on the two rail bridges to prevent them from being washed away by the floodwaters. The trains were there for about five hours until the floodwaters receded.
Heavy rainfall has reportedly forced more than 7,000 people to leave their homes and caused a direct economic loss about 130 million yuan.
