Singapore scored an emphatic 153- run win over Malaysia in the three-day Carl Schubert Trophy Under-23 cricket match in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
Leading by 298 runs overnight after Saturday in the two-innings contest, the Republic set Malaysia a target of 320 when they were dismissed for 206 in their second innings to add to their 113-run first-innings lead.
Then sharp fielding and purposeful cricket saw Singapore outwit Malaysia.
Brief scores: Singapore 283-8 in 75 overs and 206 in 66.5 overs (Prasheen Paraam 52 , Varun Varman 57, Anish Paraam 41, Haziq Zainuddin 3-9). Malaysia 170 in 53.4 overs and 166 in 59.3 overs (Syahadat Ramli 64, Anantha Krishna 3-22). Singapore won by 153 runs.
