SINGAPORE - The second edition of the Singapore International Jewelry Expo (SIJE) returns this weekend, hoping to top the inaugural show last year, which drew more than 10,600 visitors from 52 countries.

Beginning yesterday and running till Sunday, it is expected to feature more than US$130 million (S$162 million) worth of jewellery, from 200 exhibitors in 20 countries.

Highlights this year include a rare 50.55 carat cushion cut white diamond ring from Malaysian jeweller DeGem, retailing for US$10 million, and a pavilion dedicated to Italian jewellers.

The organisers, Conference and Exhibitions Management Services, was also one of those behind the Singapore International Jewellery Show, which ran from 2005 to 2012.

Other events on the jewellery calendar in Singapore include the annual Singapore JewelFest, returning for the 12th time, and the Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair.

Admission to SIJE 2014 is free, but visitors are required to fill out a registration form at the visitor counter.

It is held at Halls A and B at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre. It is open today and tomorrow from 11.30am to 8.30pm and 11.30am to 7pm on Sunday.

We highlight some of our favourite picks at SIJE 2014.
