Dengue cluster at NUS UTown

The National University of Singapore's University Town (NUS' UTown), home to some 1,800 students, has become a high-risk dengue cluster after 10 cases were reported in the area, according to the latest National Environment Agency (NEA) data.

An NUS spokesman said the university is "in close communication with the NEA to manage the dengue situation", and that the cases listed were from both UTown and a nearby construction site.

NUS has engaged professional pest control contractors to conduct daily inspections of drains and common areas and to trim landscapes and clear dry leaves. They have also raised the frequency of misting the area with insect repellent to three times a week.
