Destiny

Destiny

From the creators of Halo come a new first-person shooter game called Destiny. I could stop right here and gamers will still buy this new game.

After all, an entire generation of gamers grew up playing Halo on the Xbox console, creating this indelible association between them.

Now, Halo's developer, Bungie, has moved on to Destiny, which belongs to the same genre as Halo, but has role-playing elements.

It is set in a post-apocalyptic future world in which mankind has been reduced to a single city on Earth. Players take on the role of a guardian defending the city from hostile aliens.

Bungie calls Destiny a "shared-world shooter" in which everyone plays together in one world with plenty of multiplayer co-op and competitive content.

If you cannot wait till September for the official release, pre-order now to secure a beta key to try a pre-release version in the middle of this year.

Available on Sept 9

Genre: First-person shooter

Platforms: PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One
