Apple to unveil iPhone 6 in early September, launch later in the month?

With all Android flagship smartphones already in the market, the rumour mill is now focused on Apple's upcoming iPhone and the latest report hints that we are just two months away from an official announcement.

According to MacRumours, a reliable source confirmed that Apple is likely to announce the next generation iPhone (commonly referred as iPhone 6) in the first or second week of September. Retail availability is expected to be a week and a half after the announcement.

The latest report is in line with the previous launch and availability dates of the iPhones. Last year, Apple announced the iPhone 5S and 5C on September 10 and it hit retail shelves on September 21. The iPhone 5 was unveiled on September 12 with retail availability 9 days later.

Apple is expected to launch two iPhones - a 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch model - which are reported to sport a 10-megapixel rear camera, an Ultra-Retina display, a 2.6GHz A8 processor and a super sleek chassis.
