iPhone glitter cases recalled over reports of chemical burns

You might have seen your friends touting these fancy glitter iPhone cases, or you might own one yourself.

Be careful though as the liquid inside these plastic cases that hold the glitter afloat might cause skin irritation and chemical burns.

A range of liquid-filled iPhone cases by MixBin is being recalled after complaints surfaced that these cases can leak when broken and harm their users.

According to the US Consumer Product Safety Comission, there have been 24 reports worldwide of skin irritation or chemical burns, including 19 in the US.

One consumer reported permanent scarring from a chemical burn and another reported chemical burns and swelling to her leg, face, neck, chest, upper body and hands.

The consumer commission also added that 263,000 units of these cases have been sold and advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled cases for their own safety.

For the entire list of the recalled cases, you can visit MixBin's website.

If you happen to own a similar glitter case, whether it's by MixBin or not, do take care not to let the liquid inside come into contact with your skin if the case leaks. Or you can change your iPhone case.
