If you aren't familiar with gaming peripheral company Razer, and its boyishly handsome CEO Tan Min-Liang, the "for fans, by fans" culture has been deeply embedded in their business.

It's also no surprise that Tan is very active on social media and engages his passionate fan base rather frequently; even spontaneously organising a giveaway for Razer Pay credits in Malaysia recently.

So it was only fitting that when a request was made by fans in 2013 for Tan to develop a Razer toaster, he gladly threw down the gauntlet and issued a challenge for them to hit one million 'likes' on Facebook.

After six years, the Facebook group known as Give us the Razer Toaster finally did it.

In Tan's Facebook post on last night (April 29), he shared their victory video accompanied by a caption stating: "Alright - I didn't think these guys were going to make it - but they did.

"Well....what can I say. I've just officially liked their page - and I'm going to put together my team of designers and engineers."

Seems like Tan might have been facetious with his challenge but he's a man who walks the talk and that's why we stan him.

The irony, is that the challenge might have taken much longer to complete had Tan not agreed to the renegotiated terms of the agreement.

On March 10, the administrators of the Facebook group published a counter-offer to Tan. They asked if each tattoo of a Razer toaster (per person) could be counted as 100,000 'likes'.

And Tan said yes, clearly underestimating how far the Razer community will go to get a toaster. (Yes, we're still processing how that sentence sounds.)

In just under two months, they managed to get 12 people to volunteer, pushing their 'likes' way past the one million mark.

The result?

You get a toaster, and you get a toaster, and everyone gets a toaster!

But wait a minute... didn't Razer announce it as an April Fools' joke in 2016?

Yep, they did - which kind of adds on to the irony, doesn't it?

Tan himself made a reference to it in November last year.

If you're excited about the toaster, you might need to wait a while, though.

Tan added in his post: "(The toaster) will take a few years - but I'll be sure to share the progress - and make it a community affair."

He concluded: "A Razer Toaster - For Razer Toaster Lovers. By Razer Toaster Lovers."

No, we're not crying. You are.
