They say fight fire with fire, but that's not really a good suggestion for now though, is it? But it is important that in times of adversity, we maintain humility, inner strength, and a sense of humour, of course. Which is why, if you would allow us to - may we suggest that you give thanks to Indonesia for 11 months of clean air?
It's been a difficult past few weeks for the asthmatics, domestic pets and everyone living in Singapore in general with the haze fogging up our skylines, lungs, eyes, and exercise plans. Al-fresco? You can bring your picnic mat in front of the television set. Pasar malam Ramly Burger hunt? Just order in some Macs. Your dog has to go for a walk-and-poop? Buy a mini treadmill and toilet train it. Honestly, it's been quite a bugger living with the haze.
But thanks to the admirable Vice-President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, we have been reminded to be thankful of what we already have. That is, the other 11 months of some great quality oxygen. Gee, thanks man!
This wacky self-serving website takes you all the way back to the days of the early-Internet, where colours were supposed to pop and not ease the eyes, and moving (and sparkly) backgrounds were the bomb. Press the button and watch as the VP Man blesses your effort with some quirky and funny phrases.
Whatever it is, humour makes for a good coping mechanism. And a great distractor. Mask up, everyone!
