Easing of live music ban for festival welcome

The Indian community is glad to hear that live music can be played at Thaipusam again, after 42 years of it not being allowed ("Green light for live music at Thaipusam"; yesterday).

I am glad the Government, along with various agencies such as the Hindu Endowments Board, took steps to engage the community and resolve our concerns.

The relaxation of the rules is welcomed by the community.

What is important now is that we abide by the rules and the law.

I thank the Hindu Endowments Board and all other agencies that took the time and made the effort to address these issues for the betterment of the Indian community.

It is indeed happy news to end our SG50 celebrations.

Let us create an environment where we can invite tourists from all over the world to witness the annual mind-boggling Thaipusam procession.
