Eating spicy food has many health benefits besides making one happy

China Press reported that eating spicy food provided many health benefits besides making the person happy.

The results of a five-year research by the China South West University's Historical Geography Department also showed that chilli had first arrived in China during the Ming Dynasty era.

However, despite having less than 400 years of history, people nowadays were living in "spicier" times, with more consuming and enjoying spicy food than ever.

According to the results, Chinese in Sichuan enjoyed their spicy food the most, followed by those in Hunan and Hubei.

It was said that eating spicy food contributed to a healthy heart, lower blood pressure as well as stimulating one's blood circulation and appetite.

Spicy food also killed pain and cold, and was supposedly anti-carcinogenic.
