20 local talents to feature in Wan Qing CultureFest 2014

The Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall (SYSNMH) will have programmes headlined by over 20 Singapore talents and artistes at its annual cultural extravaganza, Wan Qing CultureFest 2014, from Nov 14 to Dec 17.

Returning for the fourth year, Wan Qing CultureFest 2014 showcases Singapore's Chinese pop culture including films, music, photography, television and the arts, and features the best of local talents.

Kicking off the festival was the opening night hosted by artiste Ms Michelle Chong with live music performances by homegrown talents, singer-songwriter Ms Serene Koong and indie singer Mr Aaron Matthew Lim.

The night also featured a poignant performance by well-known sand artist Ms Stacey Lim where visitors enjoyed a visual narrative of Dr Sun Yat Sen's footprints in Nanyang and scenes of Singapore.

Events the public can look forward to over the three-week festival include a Balestier heritage and food trail by experienced guides who will take the public around the precinct to experience the culinary delights and quirky shops, a song writing and arrangement workshop conducted by celebrated songwriters and producers, Mr Derrick Tham, Mr Peng Chi Sheng and Mr Terence Teo, who have produced hit songs and worked with celebrities like Ms Stefanie Sun, Mr JJ Lin, and Ms Fish Leong, and a short film writing workshop by local director/producer, Mr Dick Su.

All visitors can gain free entry to SYSNMH during the Wan Qing CultureFest 2014.
