3 must-see acts at Korean Music Wave

SINGAPORE - Local K-pop fans will be spoilt for choice at the MBC Korean Music Wave 2013, as there are 14 acts, including 2PM, Kara, SHINee and hosts Taetiseo, headed this way.

M picks its faves...

The sexiest

To be honest, girl group 4Minute are a huge draw because of their star attraction, HyunA. After watching so many music videos where she plays the doe-eyed sex kitten to perfection - from showing off her ample cleavage in Bubble Pop to titillating rapper Psy in Ice Cream to fondling Beast member Hyunseung's chest while decked out in lingerie (Trouble Maker's new video Now) - we simply have to catch this hot 21-year-old live.

The cutest

We've loved sassy quartet Sistar ever since 2011's hit reality TV series Super Junior and Sistar's Hello Baby, which featured Hyolyn, Bora, Soyou and Dasom babysitting a 15-month old baby with Super Junior's Lee Teuk. The girls, who were then showbiz newbies, were animated and candid. Now that they are bona fide artists, we're curious to see if they still exude the natural charm that made us fall for them in the first place.

The strongest

And we're not just talking about strength in numbers.

Twelve-member boy band EXO are definitely on the rise, what with their recent Best Korean Act win at the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards.

Their debut album Xoxo, which includes the energetic hits Wolf and Growl, is also close to hitting sales of one million copies - which, should it happen, will make them the first K-pop stars to do so in over a decade.
