Gabriela Isler works as a talent on a Venezuelan television network called the Venevision TV Network.

2. She is of mixed parentage

She is half Venezuelan and half Swiss. Her father, Mr Juan Isler Lengemann, is the son of immigrants from Switzerland.

3. Her home state has produced several beauty queens

She won the title of Miss Guarico before beating 23 others to become Miss Venezuela last year. Guarico, a state in northern Venezuela, has produced nine Miss Venezuelas so far.

4. She can do the flamenco

Isler is a trained flamenco dancer as she started taking lessons as a child.

5. She was a dark horse to win

Las Vegas bookmakers believed Isler to be a long shot, reported Examiner.com. Odds on her winning were 16/1, which was ranked 14th along with Miss Germany, Miss Spain, Miss Turkey and Miss Curacao
