SINGAPORE - Goodbye Christian Bale, hello Ben Affleck.
Oscar-winning US actor-director Affleck, 41, has been cast as Batman in director Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel sequel, taking over the suit from Bale, the star of Christopher Nolan's movie trilogy Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.
In a statement, Snyder described his Caped Crusader as "older and wiser" than Henry Cavill, who will reprise his role of Superman and his alter-ego Clark Kent.
Snyder added: "(Ben) bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retains the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can't wait to work with him."
