Big Bang's Taeyang shirtless in Singapore

He can sing with soaring vocals, and dance with sleek moves on stage.

But it was Taeyang's shirtless performance during his two-hour sell-out Rise concert at the Singapore Expo yesterday that stole the show.

K-pop idol Taeyang, of A-list boy band Big Bang fame, made his fans scream when he ripped off his black singlet at the end of his hit ballad, Wedding Dress, showing off a taut bod complete with six-pack abs.

During the four-minute track, the sexy 26-year-old star drew deafening screams from the 4,000-strong crowd, as he navigated the high notes with ease, and put up a hot performance.

MULTI-TALENTED

Fan Joanne Lim, 21, said: "Taeyang is the epitome of the word sexy. I almost fainted when he took off his top. He is very hot."

The undergraduate added: "He is so multi-talented. He can sing and dance so well, and his English is very good too. I was mesmerised."

The concert, which started promptly at 7.10pm, was attended by a crowd of fans ranging from their teens to their early 30s, who were on their feet right from the beginning of the show.

The singer showed off his many talents by playing the keyboard during emotional ballad You're Mine and displaying difficult synchronised dance moves during his chart-topping up-tempo song Ringa Linga.

During the popular track I Need A Girl, Taeyang drove the audience wild when he pulled a lucky fan onto the stage and held her waist while singing to her. He also belted catchy new hit Good Boy, a collaboration with Big Bang leader G-Dragon.

Even though the latter was not present, Taeyang the crowd-pleaser did not stop asking his fans: "There is only one Good Boy here tonight. Is it okay?", to which fans replied with a resounding "Yes".

The hardworking singer obliged with not one but two encores, belting out award-winning Big Bang hits Bad Boy and Fantastic Baby, which had everyone singing along.

But of course, he had to end his highly energetic gig with another shirtless performance, taking off his singlet when he sang his new songs Body and Eyes, Nose, Lips.

Student Tan Junsi, 23, said: "I kind of expected him to strip again but it was still very exciting. The concert definitely ended on a high note."
