Big thanks to the fans

SINGAPORE - After just over two years on air, my radio show - Maddy, Jason & Arnold In The Morning - is the number one English breakfast programme among Singapore women.

I can't tell you how happy this makes me.

For a start, it means I'm probably not going to get fired.

Three cheers for gainful employment!

Beyond that, it makes me super proud to know that people are actually enjoying what my colleagues and I are doing.

Morning shows are a bit different from other shows in that you generally have to talk a lot more.

If the chemistry or energy between the hosts isn't just right, or if the topics are boring, people will tune out in a hurry no matter how good the music is.

Fortunately, Maddy, Arnold and I clicked from the beginning.

If we were a band of medieval fantasy warriors, Maddy would be the fairy sorceress, I would be the half-elf archer, and Arnold would be the barbarian warrior.

Each of us has a specific function, and so there is very little conflict.

Maddy casts her spells. I shoot my arrows. Arnold swings his sword.

His metaphorical sword. You know what I mean.

I've never been much of a team player, but I am having so much fun being a part of this particular team.

Most mornings, it doesn't even feel like work.

When we're at our best, it honestly feels like we're having our own little party, and I think our fans feel like they're partying right along with us.

During our live events such as Girls' Night Out (yes, I'm one of the "girls") we've had many chances to come face-to-face with some incredible women.

There was the Dancing Queen, who made us feel old with her clubbing tales.

The was the Yacht Girl, who made fun of me for being terrified of terrifying waves.

There was the Timberlake Fan, who was delighted/horrified when I showed her his SNL joke songs.

Then there was the Guest DJ, who I fear will take my job.

I can't tell you the number of calls, SMSes and social media posts we've received from people telling us how we have brightened their morning.

Some might think being a DJ is a trivial thing, but making someone smile or laugh while they're sitting in rush-hour traffic is no mean feat. I'm honoured I get to do that.

If I really think about it, it almost moves me to tears.

I would like to thank everyone from Kiss92 - from management and producers to marketing and sales - for their incredible support.

I would like to thank the fairy sorceress and the barbarian warrior.

Mostly, I would like to thank all of you who listen to Maddy, Jason & Arnold in the Morning.

Here's to 2015 - the party is just getting started.
