British singers Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Estelle to perform at Formula 1 after-parties

SINGAPORE - The Podium Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton is set to go all glitzy again as stars prepare to descend upon Singapore for Formula 1 season in September.

Among the line-up of musical talents performing during the Grand Prix season is award-winning British pop singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who is slated to perform at the opening party on Friday, Sept 16.

The 37-year-old, known best for tracks such as Murder On The Dancefloor and Groovjet (If This Ain't Love), will be performing with husband Richard Jones. The duo, known as Me and Mr Jones, will see Sophie on vocals and her other half on the decks.

On Saturday (Sept 17), DJ Mark Doyle and the Fierce Angel Collective will return with live entertainment, including 'Fierce Diva' Soraya Vivian (vocals), London's most sought-after celebrity saxophonist, Emma Frampton and Cuban percussionist Pablo Calzado on the drums.

On race night (Sept 18), Grammy Award-winning singer Estelle will take to the stage at The Podium Lounge. The British singer-songwriter is best known for her track American Boy with Kanye West, and One Love with David Guetta.

The Podium Lounge has been the go-to venue for after-parties and celebrity sightings at almost every F1 season in Singapore. This is the 8th consecutive year which the party will be held and over 9,000 people is expected to turn up.
