Hong Kong actress Carina Lau Kar-ling has denied that her husband, award-winning actor Tony Leung Chiu-wai, will be retiring, China Press reported.
Earlier, there were rumours that Leung, who has been taking a long break from work, wanted to retire.
Lau reportedly said Leung faced a bottleneck in his career and was thinking about his next step.
She said she was actively looking for a manager for him.
“I am starting to be impatient as I have not found him a manager. I cannot be his manager. This is to avoid quarrelling with him,” she said.
Lau temporarily acted as his manager after Leung and Jettone, a company owned by Wong Kar-wai that represented him for 28 years, went their separate ways in June.
Leung starred in many award-winning films by Wong, including In The Mood for Love, The Grandmaster and Chungking Express.
