Chris Cornell's final music video released

The final music video Chris Cornell was working on before his death has now been released, with many shots of the artist playing acoustic guitar in a studio.

"The Promise" appears on the soundtrack for the film of the same name, which features Oscar Isaac, Christian Bale and Charlotte Le Bon in a drama about refugees of the Armenian genocide.

Cornell's video deals with similar issues through historical and contemporary footage of refugees.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, one of the video's directors, Meiert Avis, told the magazine that Cornell had wished to give the video an optimistic tone.

The film's producer, Eric Esrailian, noted Cornell's mood while working on the clip: "He was happy, passionate, engaged and creative. […] He was focused but excited; not stressed. Just happy."

Cornell, lead singer of the rock bands Soundgarden and Audioslave, committed suicide and was found dead on May 18.
