Teenage girls are the worst.

They may look adorably winsome in all their blooming youthfulness, but don't let that fool you.

Hormones (or whatever) raging, they can be moody, defiant, sullen, wilful and just downright mean.

In certain extreme cases, they are crazy!

Carrie, a retelling of the 1976 cult classic, tells the story of one such bonkers lass.

Chloe Grace Moretz plays the ginger of the horror film's title, a girl who endures all sorts of abuse before finally throwing down with her telekinetic super powers!

Of course Carrie isn't the only teen terror to grace the big screen.

Jason Johnson, an insane young woman at heart, pays homage to a few of the most memorable grisly girls of recent years.

Carrie looks like the sort of girl who'd be super popular, but all the kids at school are mean to her because high school kids are hyenas, basically.

Come prom, things go way too far, and she finally decides to do something about it - telekineses FTW!

Moretz (above and right) is no stranger to playing young ladies with serious attitude. Let us not forget she's the ultra-violent Hit-Girl in the Kick-Ass films, a nasty vampire in Let Me In and a snarky teen werewolf in Dark Shadows. She's basically the adorably snarling face of teen angst.

She's crazy only because of her jerky peers and controlling mum. Poor girl.

Megan Fox

As Jennifer in Jennifer's Body (2009)

Though Fox is a one-man woman in real life, she looks like a man-eater, which is what she plays in Jennifer's Body.

She's a demon-possessed girl who literally eats her male classmates.

Fox ain't the greatest thespian obviously, but, wow, what a looker.

This movie is like Jaws - but for dudes who like young girls.

Page plays a mysterious nymph who meets an older gent and suspected sexual predator (Patrick Wilson), then ties him up and tortures him.

One of her friends was a victim of a horrendous crime, and vengeance will be hers!

She's not crazy per se, she's just out for some very serious payback.

EMMA ROBERTS

As Jill in Scream 4 (2011)

Roberts plays the cousin of the slasher franchise's long-time heroine Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell).

Seemingly a nice girl, she's actually the new Ghostface Killer, and she's murdering everybody like crazy.

Looks can be deceiving, and good looks even more so.

As Mandy in All The Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006)

The pulchritudinous Heard plays a girl who has blossomed delightfully, and consequently gets invited to a popular-kid party in the countryside.

Unfortunately, she and her freaky friend like to kill.

Heard, now better known as Johnny Depp's girlfriend, made a huge impression with this early effort.

This chick is as nuts as she is sexy - a perfect 10 in both departments.
