Ed Sheeran fans scramble to get Jakarta concert tickets

Ed Sheeran performs on NBC's "Today" at Rockefeller Plaza on March 8, 2017 in New York City.

Tickets to an Ed Sheeran concert in Indonesia are currently on sale.

Ticket sales opened on Monday at 11 a.m.

Fans waited to get the tickets online via the BookMyShow Indonesia website.

However, the website experienced technical issues in the first hour due to a large number of people trying to access it.

Twenty-four-year-old Raden Arsi Agnitasari got tickets after almost two hours of trying.

"I got a queue number, but it moved slowly. I then tried to open the website in another browser and finally succeeded [in getting tickets]," she said.

Meanwhile, 30-year-old Stephany Josephine got a ticket through a friend. Her friend and her colleagues had been on standby [on the website], she said.

The group got tickets at around 12:30 p.m.

Other netizens on Twitter had similar experiences in accessing the website.

As of this writing, Ed Sheeran concert tickets for Bronze, Gold, Silver, Festival A and Festival B were sold out, leaving a few seats in the Diamond category.

The British singer-songwriter is slated to perform at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in Tangerang on Nov. 9 as part of his Divide tour.
