Fast five with Dane Deehaan

Fast five with Dane Deehaan

1 QUICK RISE

Six years ago, he was just another face in the sea of Hollywood actors. But he rose to big-screen fame playing a troubled teenage superhero in Chronicle (2012). His rapid climb to the upper levels of the Hollywood food chain was backed by a Bafta's Rising Star nomination earlier this year.

2 BAD BOY

DeHaan had made a name playing angsty, rebellious and intense young men. Besides Chronicle, there was The Place Beyond The Pines as Ryan Gosling's conflicted son and most recently as the charismatic but unstable Lucien Carr in Kill Your Darlings.

He walks further to the dark side in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which opens here tomorrow. He plays Harry Osborn, Peter Parker's childhood friend who becomes the arch-nemesis Green Goblin.

3 JAMES FRANCO-JAMES DEAN CONNECTION

Not only does DeHaan step into Franco's Green Goblin's shoes, like Franco, he's also being hailed as a young James Dean. Franco played the iconic heart-throb rebel in the TV movie James Dean in 2001 and DeHaan will take on the same role in Life.

4 LOOKING GOOD

Prada loves his unusual looks. The Italian luxury fashion house has re-contracted him as the sole star for its Spring/Summer 2014 campaign. He was part of a group of spokesmen for Prada's Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

5 HAPPILY HITCHED

He married actress Anna Wood in 2012 after six years of dating. She was also his co-star in Chronicle.
