Film review: Plane

Film review: Plane

RATING: 2/5

How the mighty have fallen.

What happened to the "story first" mantra that Disney/Pixar's god of animation John Lasseter (he's credited as producer and story writer here) always talked about?

Planes is a rip-off of Lasseter's pet project Cars. Not only is the story similar, the characters look similar, too.

Planes is an underdog story about Dusty (Dane Cook), a small crop duster plane that dreams of racing with the world's fastest aircraft.

Like Cars, Dusty has help from loyal pals: Skipper (Stacy Keach), a grumpy World War II plane that becomes Dusty's reluctant mentor, sidekick-cum-mechanic Dottie (Teri Hatcher), and Chug (Brad Garrett) the fuel truck.

The only plus point is its amazing visuals.
