Future Music Festival Asia coming to Singapore

The Future Music Festival Asia (FMFA) will be held at the Changi Exhibition Centre from March 13-14 next year.

Concurrently, organisers The Livescape Group and Future Music Australia also announced one part of the expected lineup for the two day event; more acts will be announced in January. The list currently comprises 24 artistes with familiar names such as Avicii, The Prodigy and Afrojack among those slated to perform.

Director of Future Music Australia Brett Robinson said: "I believe we have got a phenomenal line-up and I don't think South-east Asia, let alone Singapore has ever witnessed a gathering of musical talents in a single event of this proportion and scale.

"So to the fans, I urge you to please get your tickets early. We're expecting a sold-out show and we really don't want to have to disappoint you because I promise you, next year, Future Music Festival Asia 2015 will be the biggest music event to happen in this part of the region."

The announcement follows the conclusion of It's The Ship 2014 on Nov 25, a trance music event held on a Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas cruise ship. The four-day-long festival was well-received, according to The Jakarta Post.

In light of the previous events' successes, the organisers are expecting over 50,000 attendees for next year's FMFA, which has been held in Kuala Lumpur for the past three years.

However, the FMFA held this year in March was marred by drug-related incidents, in which six people died, reportedly from the consumption of methamphetamine. This led to the event being cancelled halfway-through, with some attendees having problems with refunds.
