KLANG - Local fans of Australian actor Chris Hemsworth - better known for his role as the hammer-wielding superhero in Thor and The Avengers - are all aflutter over his being in town to film the action thriller Cyber.

They are eager to meet the handsome 29-year-old face-to-face.

Alice Chia is one such fan. The 21-year-old said she was getting all the information and news that she could about Hemsworth.

"I've been monitoring my Facebook and Twitter accounts every now and then," said the undergraduate. "It would be a dream come true to see him in person."

Hemsworth arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at around 1.10pm on a flight from Hong Kong on Friday. He was dressed in T-shirt and Bermuda shorts and sported dark sunglasses under a straw hat.

He will be in the country for five weeks to shoot the movie, which is being directed by Michael Mann - whose credits include Collateral, Heat, Ali and Miami Vice - and co-stars Mandapop king Wang Lee-Hom and Chinese actress Tang Wei.

IMDB reported that filming was also done in Los Angeles, Jakarta and Hong Kong.

Both Wang and Tang, who had starred together in Ang Lee's Lust, Caution, another film shot in Malaysia, arrived yesterday as well. While Hemsworth walked on, the two Asian stars greeted Malaysians with a "hello". When asked about their feelings about being back in Malaysia, both said: "Very happy."

Chia's friend Emily Chan said her dream was to have her photo taken with Lee-Hom.

"Of course, I would love to see Hemsworth," said the 22-year-old student. "But standing next to Lee-Hom for a photo has always been my dream."
