Host of stars turn out at annual Cannes' Aids fundraiser

The annual amfAR gala to raise money for AIDS research, which has become a staple at the Cannes film festival, took place on Thursday, May 21, at the luxurious five-star Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, perched over the blue water of the French Riviera not far from Cannes.

As usual, film stars, millionaires and musicians mingled on the red carpet.

This year actors Antonio Banderas, Jake Gyllenhaal, Sienna Miller, Marion Cotillard, Diane Kruger and Sarah Ferguson were among the attendees.

AmfAR has been raising money for AIDS research for several years.

On the carpet this year, the Chairman of the Board Kenneth Cole announced that they hope to have a cure by 2020.
