Hrithik Roshan to turn up at the heat at SIDS Fest

SINGAPORE - Preparations are well underway for the Singapore International Deepavali Shopping Festival (SIDS Fest), organised by tabla! and Tamil Murasu along with events company de ideaz.

And one of the biggest highlights of this five-day shopping extravaganza, to be held from Sept 18 to 22, will be Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan (above) who will greet fans and promote his upcoming action movie Krrish 3. The actor will be at the festival, held at the Singapore Expo Hall 5B, on Sept 20. The movie, Krrish 3, is directed by Hrithik's father Rakesh under his production company Filmkraft.

Filmkraft chief executive officer Shashank Jare told tabla!: "Singapore is the place where India's first superhero film Krrish was extensively shot. It was the second instalment of our Filmkraft's trilogy which began with India's first sci-fi film Koi Mil Gaya. Now our banner is ready with the third instalment, Krrish 3. Hrithik is more than excited to come back to the city to meet his fans and promote the movie."

And if Hrithik is turning up the heat on stage, expect exhibitors to be giving out hot bargains on the various items that are being showcased at this shopping festival. There are more than 350 stalls selling a huge variety of products from India and the South-east Asian region.

If you're looking for something glamorous to wear this festive season, there are several exhibitors who will be selling exotic lengha-styled saris. If you want something more traditional, there will be a huge range of Kanchivaram silk saris and fabrics with beautiful Chikankari embroidery for you to choose from.

And, of course, to spice things up, there will also be various competitions held for visitors at SIDS Fest and many exciting prizes to be won. If you think you're the reigning king or queen in the kitchen, you can put your skills to the test in the cooking competition (Sept 19). And for the children, there will be art competitions (Sept 21 & 22), fancy dress competitions (Sept 18 to 20), singing competitions (Sept 19 & 20) and group dance competitions (Sept 19 & 22) to keep them busy while you check out the stalls.

There is something for everyone, young and old. This is an event not to be missed!
