It's official: Guinness world record for SPH UnionWorks station, Hot FM91.3

Two DJs from SPH UnionWorks station, Hot FM91.3, have officially set a Guinness world record for the longest marathon radio music show by a duo.

DJs Boy Thunder - whose real name is Gerald Koh - and Adam Piperdy won the honour for hosting a show live from a glass container outside Plaza Singapura for more than three days.

They embarked on their record-breaking attempt on March 20 and completed it 77 hours and 11 minutes later. The previous record of 74 hour and 3 minutes was held by a British radio station.

The confirmation of the world record came on Friday, and was met with enthusiasm by both radio hosts.

"We thought it was just a joke," said Boy Thunder. "The attempt was made about five months ago and during the attempt, we heard that there were other stations overseas attempting to break the same record."
