Kiss92 maintains position as Singapore's No.1 English music radio station

The latest Nielsen radio survey results released today saw Kiss92 emerging as the ever growing favourite English language radio station with Singaporeans based on share of listeners.

The two-year-old radio station, managed by SPH Radio, took the honours of being Singapore's No. 1 English music station based on percentage share of listenership. Its cumulative listenership saw a huge leap of 50,000 to 624,000, very narrowly missing the pole position.

The Nielsen Radio Diary Survey results saw all SPH Radio stations making it into the Top 10 positions, with UFM 100.3 moving up one notch to 8th position with listenership increasing by 45,000 to 365,000. Listenership on HOTFM 91.3, the other English radio station managed by SPH Radio, remains flat.

Mr Sim Hong Huat, General Manager of SPH Radio, said: "This is wonderful results for SPH Radio and we are ever thankful to our fans and partners for believing in us. The team has been working hard at making our radio stations a big hit and delivering what our fans want and the results clearly show it. As 2015 approaches, the team will be relentlessly working on new ideas that will re-energise the Singapore Radio landscape and giving our fans more of what they love."

Commenting on the results for Kiss92, Mr Jamie Meldrum, Senior Program Director for Kiss92 and Hot FM91.3, SPH Radio, said: "To grow a new station in two years is no easy feat. The team is overjoyed and are all hyped up to continue this extraordinary growth momentum."

Ms Carine Ang, Program Director for UFM100.3, SPH Radio, said: "This is one of the best results that we've seen in recent times. The team is encouraged by the upward trend of our listenership and will continue to give our fans the music that they love."

Since Kiss92's launch two years ago, the station has been shaking up the Singapore Radio scene. Between September to November this year, Kiss92 gave fans the chance to win $9,200 in Kiss92's Celebrity Soundcheck.

Two lucky fans walked away with $9,200 each for guessing the celebrities featured in an audio snippet made up of five celebrity voices. Earlier this year, the station embarked on a Bucket List campaign and got fans thinking about their dream experiences.

The station fulfilled more than 10 fan experiences, including a diving adventure in the Great Barrier Reef, an Australian adventure roadtrip and a trip to the European countryside. This campaign aimed at empowering Kiss92 fans to take that first step to pursue the experiences they dreamed of.

HOT FM91.3, the English station targeting the under 30s, rolled out the biggest concert giveaway in Singapore. Ten pairs of fans got to fly around the world to catch their favourite artiste perform LIVE in HOTFM's 10 for 10. In March 2014, the station went on a hunt for Singapore's Hottest BFF (Best Friends Forever).

Three shortlisted pairs of contestants played for the grand prize worth more than $30,000, including $10,000 cash and a Contiki European adventure.

The UFM100.3 team was also out and about broadcasting LIVE from malls and events to be where their fans are. Earlier this year, UFM100.3 rolled out its U1000 countdown campaign to determine the best 1000 songs of all times as nominated and voted by the fans.

With more than half a million song votes, the countdown campaign proved to be a success - more than 800 fans gathered at the U1000 sing-a-long concert to cap off the countdown and it provided the radio station with insights on the songs that fans want.
