Model's mum: It's just some personal problems

PETALING JAYA - The mother of 23-year-old model Germaine Ong has brushed off her daughter's disappearance, simply saying that it was due to some "personal problems".

The mother, who only wanted to be known as Ong, confirmed that her daughter was safe after news circulated on the Internet that her daughter was missing after seeing "dirty things" in the condominium she recently rented.

"She is here now," Ong said when contacted Thursday.

Ong declined to elaborate on her daughter's disappearance.

Rumours were that Germaine went missing after she moved to the condominium in Damansara Perdana here on Wednesday.

According to an online post looking for Germaine, she had called her mum on Tuesday night, saying she had seen "dirty things" in the condominium.

The post related how she was talking to the walls for the whole day.

She was quoted as saying that if the next morning she was found dead, it meant the "ghost" had "eaten" her.

Her parents and a friend known as Melvin last saw her in Empire Soho at 1pm on Tuesday.

Her car was parked in the condo but she was said to have walked out of the house.
