Movie pick: Fading Gigolo

You can't not like this movie.

The story of two old men taking a stab at the world's oldest profession, where Fioravante (John Turturro) serves as a gigolo with Murray (Woody Allen) as his pimp, is all a bit loopy, considering Turturro isn't exactly Don Juan material in the looks department.

But he has charm oozing out of his pores. He even has Orthodox Jewish widow Avigal (Vanessa Paradis) falling for him - and that's where the story gets clunky.

The chaste romance between Fioravante and Avigal is played out tenderly, but the peripheral characters who come along drag everything off-tangent.

Turturro is at his best trading words with Allen, who shows why he's still a master at comedy.
