I can imagine my video game-addicted sons loving this flick.
It's basically about a young gamer, Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), who must save the world.
Humanity is at war with an alien race, and 12-year-old PlayStation fans are deemed our best hope, thanks to their ability to learn quickly and strategise on the fly.
The premise is slightly similar to the 80s sci-fi opus The Last Starfighter, but Ender's Game is a million times slicker and doesn't have weird-looking bald ladies.
Butterfield is perfect as Ender, able to show smarts, sensitivity and savagery as required.
As he rises up through the ranks from one military school to the next, he keeps us hooked.
Great character, great action.
