Movie review: One Direction: This Is Us

Movie review: One Direction: This Is Us

RATING: 4/5

Puzzled as to why your daughter/niece/and other random teens become an incoherent, screaming mess whenever a One Direction song comes on the radio?

Here's Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) to the rescue. Through behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with family and staff members, and live concert clips, he presents a compelling case for the phenomenal success of the band.

Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles may lack spectacular singing chops (not to mention a complete lack of interest in dancing - blasphemous for a boy band) but they have bucketfuls of charm.

There is also a wonderfully insightful, emotional section in the middle when the boys' parents reveal how disconnected they feel from their children's busy lives.
