One Direction headed for billion-dollar club

UNITED STATES - English-Irish pop group One Direction are expected to become the world's first billion-dollar boy band when 2014 rolls around.

The earnings will come from the quintet's album sales of 30 million, merchandise, fragrances, make-up range, upcoming movie This Is Us and worldwide concert tours, according to Business Insider's calculations.

To add to their coffers, the boys recently unveiled a series of new and improved plastic dolls of their likeness, which are an updated version of the figurines that were released last year.
