Imagine if you could see through the eyes of another person. That is the power and allure of fiction, as writers weave stories that take their readers through the many richly imagined lives of others.
Following that train of thought, the Prada Journal literary contest invited writers from all over the world to send in short stories based on the following challenge: "What are the realities that our eyes give back to us? And how are these realities filtered through lenses?"
Now, five winning tales have been selected out of over 1,300 entries submitted; soon, you'll be able to read the tales of these authors online.
As announced at the Broadway Epicenter store in New York on October 23, 2013, the winning short stories by Angel Mario Fernández, Sarah Harris Wallman, Peng Yang, Mattia Conti and Leisl Egan will soon be available for free download on www.prada.com before the end of 2013.
Read the brisk tales on happenstance, depressed clowns, a little boy's search for a way to the stars and more short stories compiled into an upcoming digital book. Who knows, this collection of new tales may inspire you to pen a story of two of your own.
