All original, not plastic - that's how stunning actress Nadiyah Shahab, 26, responded to claims that her perfect features, which have earned her the moniker "Barbie", are the result of cosmetic surgery.

"I will not entertain talk of whether my facial features are original or otherwise.

"All of them are original and not 'plastic' as some are saying," she said in an interview with Mingguan Malaysia.

The Singapore-born lass, who stars in local TV drama Lafazkan Kalimah Cinta, attributed her looks to her Arab-Javanese parentage.

"Just because my looks are said to resemble a certain cosmetics entrepreneur, I have been accused of altering my features, which should not be an issue at all," she said.

Nadiyah, whose full name is Sharifah Nadiyah Syed Fuad Al Shahab, added that she normally does not wear make-up.

Nadiyah, who is also studying law, said she has to travel back and forth between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore and finds it tiring.

She plans to settle down in Malaysia after marrying local actor Ben Ali later this year.
