Singer Brandy storms off after playing to just 40 people in stadium

US singer Brandy cut short a performance in South Africa last Saturday when only 40 people turned up to watch her sing at a 90,000-capacity stadium.

The 34-year-old was the guest performer at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg as part of Mandela Sports and Culture Day.

E! Online reported that the stadium was filled throughout the day, with attendees there to watch other performers and a football game, but most of them headed home before Brandy's performance.

South African musician Kabomo, who was at the scene, tweeted his shock: "Brandy performed to an empty stadium. With the stadium lights on. She sulked after two songs and walked off... It was late."
