Splitsville for Henstridge and husband

Former Pop Idol contestant Darius Campbell and Canadian actress Natasha Henstridge have split up after two years of marriage, following alleged disputes over finances.

The 32-year-old Scottish singer from the British reality TV singing series told Mail Online on Tuesday: "We decided to file for divorce and we ask for privacy at this time. We filed the divorce papers today. It was a mutual decision."

He has since moved out of their home in California and is living with a friend.

Campbell and Henstridge, 38, met on a pedestrian crossing in 2004 and tied the knot in a secret ceremony on Valentine's Day in 2011.

The statuesque star of sci-fi flick Species has two sons Asher, 11, and Tristan, 14, with former boyfriend, US actor Liam Waite.
