Visual treats to look for at Sundown

Visual treats to look for at Sundown

SINGAPORE - Taiwanese singer Yoga Lin may just be bringing his "sister" to town for his performance at the Sundown Festival here on Saturday.

No, not his biological sister. But an alter-ego Lin, 26, coined for himself when he appeared sporting a long bob at a concert in Taiwan in August.

"I've always wanted to experiment with my hair length, and keep it long, like Stefanie Sun," he said, referring to the Singaporean songbird's above-shoulder-length hair.

Still mulling over whether to wear his head of flowing locks here, Lin said in jest: "If I have long hair, I'm afraid I might eat my own hair while I sing."

It looks like the kooky Lin may not be the only visual spectacle at the eight-hour music extravaganza featuring 10 regional acts, such as South Korean girl band AOA and Japanese visual-kei rock band D=Out.

Look out for Hong Kong hunk Bosco Wong, who is known for his adventurous fashion choices.

Keeping his outfit for the concert here under wraps, the 32-year-old TVB actor said: "My look is styled to match the occasion. Do anticipate what I will be preparing specially for my performance here."

Judging by his past outlandish outfits - Wong last appeared here in a pink paisley blazer, a black hat, with pink socks and shoes at the StarHub TVB Awards in September - the fashion-forward actor is not likely to disappoint.

"I've worn skirts, put on smokey make-up and even painted my nails. It's all part of the concept for concerts," he said, referring to last year's TVB music director's concert in Hong Kong when he slapped on grungy-looking eye make-up.

Beyond the razzle dazzle, Wong will be belting out Cantopop tunes from his movie Buddy Cops and TVB dramas Lives Of Omission and A Change Of Heart at the concert.

Lin, who is the sole Taiwanese representative at the mega-concert, said he will be presenting a familiar repertoire so that fans can engage in a sing-along session.

While the talented Lin may be an award-winning crooner, the humble guy gave himself only a four out of 10 for his seven-year singing career.

He earned his break in showbiz with his rich vocals by winning the first season of Taiwanese singing reality contest One Million Star in 2007.

He said: "I'm still in the learning stages and moving towards the halfway mark of five points. I feel I have much to learn."

Surely, Lin's fans think otherwise.
