Vote for your favourite stars at Singapore Entertainment Awards 2014

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Entertainment Awards (SEA) 新加坡e乐大赏 is back for the sixth year! Organised by Singapore Press Holdings Ltd (SPH) and fronted by SPH's leading entertainment media platforms Lianhe Wanbao, omy.sg, UFM100.3 and U-Weekly, SEA 2014 will continue to honour the best talents as well as the movers and shakers of the Asian Entertainment scene in the past year.

Apart from honouring the best talents in Singapore and Asia, the awards also promote the local and regional entertainment scene.

Over 30 awards will be presented this year, across a wide spectrum from music, movies, dramas to concerts. The qualifying period for nomination is from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013.

Fans of Asian pop stars will be eager to cheer for their idols who are battling for the top awards in the "Most Popular" and "Best" categories! The "Most Popular" awards are determined by public voting while the awards in the "Best" categories are judged by a professional panel comprising local and overseas media, as well as entertainment industry experts.

Two lucky voters stand a chance to win a pair of return air tickets to Seoul (excluding airport taxes and surcharges) or $500 cash.

Last year's Most Popular Male and Female Singers were Aska Yang and Stefanie Sun respectively. The Best Male and Female Singer awards went to Yoga Lin and Lala Hsu.

The nominees this year include some of the biggest stars in Asia, including Jay Chou, Jam Hsiao and Wang Lee Hom in the Most Popular Male Singer category, as well as Singapore's very own Stefanie Sun, Taiwan's Hebe Tian and Hong Kong's Denise Ho who will be vying for the title of Most Popular Female Singer.

Winners of the SEA 2014 will be announced in end April 2014.

Mr Chua Chim Kang, Managing Editor, Chinese Newspapers Division, SPH and Chairman of the SEA 2014 Organising Committee, said: "The Asian entertainment scene has never been more exciting. Singers and actors have to compete not just with others from their country but those from other countries in the region as well. The judges have a very tough job this year determining just who are the best, while we believe the fans will stand by their favourite artistes and vote for them to win in the 'most popular' categories."
