Think Jennifer Lawrence is the only scene-stealer during the awards season?

Enter Brit thespian Emma Thompson, who earned Best Actress nominations for Saving Mr Banks - opening here tomorrow - at the big awards shows but has gone home empty-handed. The 54-year-old wasn't even nominated for any awards in the upcoming Oscars.

But you don't see a grouch.

On the contrary, Thompson has hijacked the limelight from her peers and won over new fans simply by being her goofy self and having a blast.

AT THE GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS

She definitely got the vote from the women in the audience when she appeared onstage barefoot and complained about wearing heels, all the while holding her Christian Louboutins in one hand and a martini in the other.

"I just want you to know, this red, it's my blood," Thompson joked about the brand's trademark red lacquered soles, after which she tossed her shoes over her shoulder.

AT THE SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS

Following her stiletto debacle, she rocked the red carpet wearing sparkly Christian Louboutin flats.

In addition, she scored the most epic red carpet photo of awards season when she photobombed 12 Years A Slave starlet Lupita Nyong'o. Hilarious.

AT THE BRITISH ACADEMY FILM AWARDS

As one of the event's presenters, she gamely became the butt of host and good friend Stephen Fry's jokes.

When he introduced her as a "stinking offal", Thompson replied with dramatic flair: "Is it me or being British that makes being referred to as a stinking piece of offal feel so much better about myself?
